Our vast network of ground and air assets is strategically located around NSW to respond to your call in the shortest possible time, with a fleet of 9 aircraft and 18 vehicles. All of which feature GPS tracking for improved safety and efficiency.
SERVICES INCLUDE:
Australia-wide transfers / International patient retrieval / Stretcher patients / Paediatric & neonatal / Monitored patients / Mental Health
Ground Transfers
AirMed’s ground patient transport service through our sister company, GroundMed operate to the same levels of efficiency and safety as with our aeromedical patient transport operation. Our paramedics and patient transport officers bring to GroundMed many years of experience and expertise, many having previously worked in the field with the ambulance and paramedic services.
Our ground fleet consists of 18 Patient Transport Vehicles which are fitted with GPS Satellite Navigation and Tracking Systems. These systems provide improved levels of safety, and they enable our crews to avoid traffic delays and to travel by the most efficient routes.
Transfer Care Facility
AirMed and GroundMed operate a Transit Care Facility (TCF) to assist with managing hospital patient movements. Our facility is used as a serviced waiting area for scheduled transfers or as a transit area for patients.
The TCF is fully supervised by the GroundMed/Airmed registered nurses. These facilities are available to stable patients, day only.
Infectious Patient Transfer (COVID-19)
As partners with NSW Health, AirMed and GroundMed are industry leaders in the transport of infectious patients, including the transfer of patients with confirmed cases of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Our team are highly trained in responding to infectious patients and their requirements during medical evacuations from remote regions, or metro areas.Of course, our sterilization and hygiene practices are to NSW Health standards, with our aircraft and vehicles completely cleaned post, and prior to every patient transfer.
