AirMed has been providing patient transport services by air and by ground for over a decade, and we are one of the few providers that have extensive experience in escorting patients on board airline flights, connecting with our ground transport to provide a true “bed-to-bed” service at a reduced costs to flying privately.
In many cases, flying by private jet is not an option, or not financially viable for you and your family. We are dedicated to patient transfer, and our team of highly experienced flight nurses have been escorting suitable patients on the airlines to provide an alternative service for non-critical patients who still need support.
Working closely with our partner airlines Qantas, Emirates and Virgin (among others), AirMed provides a range of services including a complete transfer solution. We handle ticket bookings, ground transport and in flight medical care on International and Domestic flights within Australia.
All of our escort staff are Registered Flight Nurses, with years of experience in the demands of patient transport by air. Our aim is to provide the safest and most comfortable transfer possible, so you can be on your way to recovery in the shortest time possible.
Airmed provide medical and nursing escorts to accompany patients who need medical supervision and monitoring during international and domestic transfers. These types of transfers are generally suitable for stable patients who are able to be seated during take off and landing.
Considering the comfort of the patients, we ensure transfers are conducted in First Class or Business Class, but some patients may require a stretcher facility, due to the nature of their medical condition. This can be accommodated on a commercial aircraft. In these cases, at least two staff are required. Our patients can fly with any major commercial airline.
